New Endowment Fund Started

Leave your legacy helping generations to come

“We have set our sights on reaching our long term endowment goal of raising $2 million dollars,” said Dee Anne Ayles, senior manager of tax services with Ernst & Young LLP. Dee Anne serves as Street School’s Endowment Chair.

Street School is participating in Tulsa Community Foundation’s Planned Giving Partnership program, which is a great resource for Street School donors, and the best way for supporters to help fund our endowment. This program assists donors in the process of meeting their family and philanthropic goals through thoughtful long-term planning.

A significant advantage of this Planned Giving Partnership program is the free advice and consultation it provides to donors. The Tulsa Community Foundation has hired a very reputable local planned giving advisor, Mark Loeber with The Advancement Group, who provides services to all potential donors at no cost to Street School or the donor whether they ultimately make a gift or not.

Street School is excited to have taken the steps necessary to make our program’s future even more successful than we are today at meeting the needs of Tulsa’s at-risk youth through an endowment, and we ask for your support.

“Should have done it long ago,” my personal testimonial

John Marlow 2008 b&w3

I’ve put off my estate planning for the same reason most people have. I’m never going to die. Or so it seems when one finds themselves middle aged, one kid just about to graduate college and another eight years away. If we deny our mortality then it will never come. Right?

Having witnessed a family feud over an unplanned estate and the untimely death of their parents, I can say that NOT planning for death can be a curse on your children. Therefore, I am so pleased I had the opportunity to meet with The Advancement Group. They made it possible for me to plan my estate and meet my personal and philanthropic goals.

The paper work was a cinch. I got through it in 10 minutes. And Mark Loeber of The Advancement Group was so easy to talk to. He had to ask me some deeply private issues but did it in a personal, caring and confidential manner.

Mr. Loeber made me feel like I was his only client. For our one hour meeting, there were no interruptions, no ringing phones. I was his only priority. And he regularly paraphrased the information I provided back to me to be sure it was exactly right.

Now that it’s over, I can say that estate planning is like getting a shot. Nobody thinks they’re going to need it and we all dread the sting of the needle. But now that it’s over, I can say that I’m sorry I didn’t do it long ago. It was so necessary and important.

As a teenager, Street School came to my rescue when I was most vulnerable. And it is among my highest priorities that Street School remain strong long after I’m gone so it can continue rescuing children who otherwise would find themselves unemployable, in prison or worse. I am so glad that The Advancement Group made my estate planning and planned giving to Street School so simple and straightforward.
